Shida Scholarship Program is designed to provide scholarships to students and researchers from the Faculty of Engineering and Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University who will undertake long-term research studies at universities and research institutes in the U.S., UK, or Canada. This program is based on the will of the late Dr. Mitsuzo Shida, a graduate of Kyoto University’s Faculty of Engineering and later on became very successful in the U.S. This scholarship is funded with generous donations from his bereaved family.
This scholarship program provides not just financial support but also scholarly community and professional development opportunities. The selection committee members who majored in engineering at Kyoto University and have global research careers serve as mentors and role models for scholars. シダスカラシッププログラムは、京都大学工学部、大学院工学研究科の学生・研究者を対象にしたもので、米国・英国・カナダの大学や研究機関へ長期研究留学を行う者に対する奨学金付与の制度です。本制度は、京大工学部出身で米国で成功された故志田光三氏のご遺志に基づき、そのご遺族家族からのご寄付で成り立っております。
