On April 25, 2026, Kyodai Collaborative supported a lecture by the Kyoto University Center for Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology (CCII) in New York City. The lecture explored the current situation and future directions of the Nobel Prize-winning immunotherapy in cancer treatment, pioneered by Dr. Tasuku Honjo.
The webinar participants listened to a video message from Dr. Tasuku Honjo and two presentations by scholars from Japan and the U.S. Dr. Kenji Chamoto from CCII discussed the discovery of cancer immunotherapy, current research, and the outlook for the future, followed by Dr. Hans-Guido Wendel’s lecture on the current state of cancer research in a U.S.-based laboratory and the potential for new cancer treatments. The audience attentively listened to a heartfelt video message and letters from patients who recovered from cancer through immunotherapy. The event concluded with a Q&A session with numerous insightful questions.
At the venue, invited guests, including U.S.-based Japanese professionals, American donors, and Kyoto University alumni, built networks to advance cancer immunotherapy together.
The webinar recording is now available. https://youtu.be/10gNZ9SfXps
