The Kingfisher Global Leadership Program aims to empower Kyoto University students as current and future leaders with the skills and networks they need to thrive in an increasingly globalized society.
Selected participants will gain profound insights into diverse international career paths and leadership styles through conversations with U.S.-based Kyoto University alumni and prominent leaders in various industries. During the stay in Washington, DC, New York City, NY, and San Francisco, CA, you will visit international organizations, such as the World Bank Group and United Nations Headquarters, Google, startup companies, and more. It is a great opportunity for Kyoto University students to develop networks, skills and confidence that help them with their global careers and leadership.

Program Dates: February 29, 2027-March 6, 2027
Eligibility Requirements:
- Enroll in Kyoto University as an undergraduate or graduate student until the end of the program. Students from all majors can apply. (Students who take a semester leave from the time of application to the end of the program cannot apply or participate.)
- Have an excellent academic record.
- Have a high level of English proficiency, proved by either one of the test scores. Scores obtained more than two years ago are accepted.
Required minimum scores- IELTS 6.0
- TOEFL iBT 4 (80 in the previous score scale)
- TOEFL IPT 600
- TOEIC L&R 700
- Eiken Pre-1
- Applicants who have completed a secondary education curriculum taught in English are exempt from the English language proficiency test requirement, provided that they submit documentation verifying completion of the program.
- Have a sense of responsibility as a representative of Kyoto University.
- Be eager to expand their horizons even in the fields outside of their current expertise.
